Storytelling Marko Andinauta & Legendary Inca Trail 500 Times

Locally Owned Company – Storytelling

Marko Andinauta Co-founder Storytelling. I have hiked more than 500 times on the famous Inca trail in more than ten years (2009 – 2020), and I have survived the highest point of the Inka Trail, the “dead woman’s pass,” more than 500 times. Unfortunately, my knee cartilage could not support more to keep hiking the Inca trail to Machu Picchu. Therefore; I created Happy Gringo Tours to keep working in the same industry; helping with information to Inca Trail hikers, and I have improved all treks to Machu Picchu with Organic Peruvian Food to protect the health of the worldwide travelers while hiking to Machu Picchu; the company and I are to safe your dietary with natural meals so that you will enjoy the fantastic beauty of my country.

Inka Trail to Machu Picchu

The most popular Peru trekking route, the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, is America’s best adventure tour. It is now spectacular to experience Machu Picchu on foot.

The ancient trail laid by Inkas from the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu winds its way up and down around the mountains. Snaking over three high Andean summits collectively led to the route dubbed the Inca Trail Tour.

This could have been a terrible time in my life. I was thriving in my career and had no plans to leave it, but there are some parts of life we can not control.

At the end of 2015, many years after hiking the Inca trail to Machu Picchu with knee and ankle damage. I was laid off from my job when trekking was my passion. Still, I understood it was time to stop working after hiking thousands of kilometers with essential people from different continents, countries, cultures, ages, languages, etc. I feel so proud of myself cause I left a history of Peru high – I won’t forget the Inca Trail adventures that I hiked with me to the wonder of the world – Machupicchu.

I left my job and learned to value my life, family, and talent.

Why did Happy Gringo Tours and Travel begin? Storytelling

A little origin story about Gringo Tours travel agency.

The real power I found during that time was that I could take control of my future. Running an online business built around Happy Gringo Tours allowed me to spend more time with my wife and my kids. I wanted to share this experience I learned with others and colleagues in similar or perhaps worse situations. Therefore, I want to share my storytelling with all of you! Life is complex, and you must choose where to stay or work comfortably…

Why I Do What I Like?

My family is the primary motivation for everything that I do, and you will hear me mention them often throughout the site. My kids, Ariana, Hannah, and Mark, have been my life since that moment. The best part about my job is that it allows me to plan my day around my family, which is very important.

“Your family is not the world – the world is your family” Inca Trail Dad

Nowadays, I am sitting behind the desk after embarking on an adventure, and I can work from home. 2017, my dream came true, and it became the best part of my life and career. Thanks to this article that i wrote about my experiences of the Legendary Inca Trail 500 times, where i got 200 visitors online and massive messages per day.

I believe that with a GOOD attitude, perseverance, optimism, and a winning mentality, we ALL can find the world by mouthfuls.

¿Do you think it is easy to be an Inca Trail Guide

The Inca trail guides are not made of metal; our work depends on 80% of feet, especially knees and ankles. Most of the year, the Inca Trail tour guides sleep in a hotel of a thousand stars, “a tent,” but I’m happy to say. We almost live in one of the world’s seven wonders, Machu Picchu. Therefore; it was another motivation to keep working in the same industry; maybe is not the same as working as mountaineer, but i am occupying the position of a leader for myself.

Thanks to the essential people with whom I hiked the Inca trail!

Happy Gringo Tours is a locally owned tour operator – Based in Cusco and was created by the Marko Andinauta team. We provide exceptional hiking tours and treks to Machu Picchu.
