The Best Time to Visit?
According our time in Cuzco – the best time for doing this wonderful trek will obviously be the dry season, which is, from April to October. Trekking on rainy season November to March along the Andes is more brave, defiance but more colorful – why? Because during the rainy season the Peruvian Andes is blooming.
During the dry season, the weather is cold, strong winds but there is no rain whatever, the path is not muddy or wet either. Get yourself really warm clothing, good hiking equipments and you will be satisfied of being in Humantay trek.
Overview on the 1 Day Humantay Lake Tour
▬ Our respective transfer will pick you up from hotel at 5:00, then we will take bus to Mollepata village for 2 hours (Extra time to sleep on the bus) the location is in the lush valley of the Apurimac canyon, after this the breakfast in Mollepata to get extra energy.
▬ Afterward, we will continue our trip towards Soraypampa 3850 meters for one hour more, where the hike start for 1 hour and 30 minutes approximately to Humantay lake located at 4150 m – 13720 feet. Once trekking for 1 hour and thirty minutes we will get to see the wonderful turquoise waters of Humantay lagoon lay peacefully at the base of the amazing Humantay Glacier and is one of the most stunning places in the Cusco and Salkantay mountain considered as a sacred place in Inca tradition. In this part of Humantay trek, you can rent horse to get to the lake, also if you desire you can swim but Laguna Humantay is very cold.
▬ After exploring Humantay Cusco we get back to Soraypama, where we have the buffet lunch with a spectacular panoramic views of the snowy mountain. After lunch we will return you to Cusco arriving late in the afternoon.
