Your day begins early in Cusco, where you’ll meet your guide and fellow adventurers. After a brief introduction and safety orientation, you’ll board a comfortable vehicle to drive to Chinchaypucjio, the starting point of your Death Road Tour. Situated at 3,700 meters (15,420 feet), Chinchaypucjio offers stunning views of the surrounding Andes and is the perfect spot to begin your descent.
Upon arrival, your guide will provide top-quality biking equipment, including a full-suspension mountain bike, helmet, gloves, and protective gear. After a final safety check, you’ll start the first leg of your journey on the paved road that winds down from Chinchaypucjio.
As you descend from Chinchaypucjio, the paved road leads to the infamous Huallpachaca Road, a narrow, winding narrow road with cliffs on one side and dry canyon on the other.
