Get a comprehensive overview of Cusco on this half-day guided Cusco City tour. With a local English speaking guide to provide information through insightful commentary, check all of the highlights of Cusco. Stops include archaeological sites (including Sacsayhuaman), the Convent of Santo Domingo, the Water Temple of Tambomachay, and others.
We will pick you up from your hotel/hostel at 01:00 PM. Our first stop will be the iconic Cathedral of Cusco and its chapels, altars etc
Following the tour, we will walk to the temple of Coricancha (The temple of the sun). Here, you will be appreciate the beauty of the Incan architecture and at the same time witness the impact of the Catholic influence. It was here, the Spanish colonists built the Church of Santo Domingo after demolishing the temple and using its foundations for the cathedral. This is one of the numerous sites where the Spanish incorporated Inca stonework into the structure of a colonial building.
From the temple of Coricancha, our bus will drive us to the four incredible archaeological sites around the city. Sacsayhuaman, with its incredible stones, each one weighing more than 100 tons. Here you will have an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the history and culture and discover the meaning and importance of this iconic place. Then, just five minutes away from Sacsayhuaman, we will reach Qenqo and see its magical altar. After this, we will visit the archaeological sites of Puka Pukara (Red Fort) and Tambomachay (Temple of Water).
Ending our tour, we will return to Cusco’s city centre (San Francisco square or Regocijo square).
