The Cusco City Tour is great for travelers who just arrived or want to explore the ancient city of Cusco or the Inca capital. Our journey begins at 1:00 PM from our main office. First, we will visit Koricancha. This site is fascinating because it combines colonial architecture with impressive Inca stonework.

From Koricancha, you will get on a comfortable bus to Sacsayhuaman site. This fortress is famous for its large, well-fitted stones. Next, we explore Qenqo, a mysterious archeological site featuring chambers once used for Inca rituals and sacrifices. The tour continues to Pucapucara ruins, an ancient Inca control post notable for its reddish stones.

It ends at Tambomachay, a calm place known for its flowing water. Inca royalty once relaxed and meditated here.

We will return to Cusco atround 6:00 PM. This will give us a relaxing and informative look at the city’s rich history. This tour is perfect for acclimating comfortably to its altitude while easily navigating between each historical landmark.

It is very close to Cusco’s central Plaza de Armas. At the tour’s end, we’ll drop you off back in Cusco’s city center by approximately 6:30 PM.

You will go to our simple reservation platform. There, you can choose your preferred date. We have daily departures.

Next, please give your general information. This includes your full name, nationality, and contact details. You can provide your WhatsApp number or your Peruvian cellphone number. Also, include the name of your hotel in Cusco.

Once completed, secure payment using any major credit or debit card.

After confirmation, you’ll immediately receive an email confirming your booking and payment. Soon, you will receive another email. This email will have important tour information. It will help you get ready to explore Cusco.

Please note that online bookings can be made until 11:00 am., one hour before your selected tour date. A small booking fee applies to online payments, which the customer covers.

Would you prefer to book in person? Visit our centrally located office in the historic center of Cusco at Calle Garcilaso, Plaza Regocijo. Our friendly tour guides will explain the Cusco City Tour. They will also give you a helpful map showing all the Inca sites you will visit.

Payments at the office can be made in cash (USD, Euros, or Peruvian soles) or by credit/debit card. Please note that card payments made in the office carry a 2.9% fee, which the customer also covers.

Cancellations made 24 hours in advance will receive a 50% refund. Please email your cancellation request to happygringotours@gmail.com.

Happy Gringo Tours can cancel the tour up to 24 hours before it starts. This may happen due to bad weather, like landslides or floods, or safety issues from strikes. In such cases, you’ll receive a full refund.

🚫 No-shows up at the agreed spot and time will not be refunded

No refunds are available if you decide to leave the tour early. However, our experienced tour guides will assist with emergencies, including altitude sickness.

You can change your tour date up to 24 hours before departure. Just email your new date to info@happygringotours.com. There is no penalty for this change.

Itinerary

Begining of the tour

We will pick you up from your hotel/hostel at 01:00 PM. Our first stop will be the iconic Cathedral of Cusco and its chapels, altars etc.

Coricancha - The Sun Temple

Following the tour, we will walk to the temple of Coricancha (The temple of the sun). Here, you will see the beauty of Incan architecture. You will also notice the impact of Catholic influence.

The Spanish colonists built the Church of Santo Domingo here. They demolished the temple and used its foundations.

This is one of the numerous sites where the Spanish incorporated Inca stonework into the structure of a colonial building.

Archaelogical Sites

From the temple of Coricancha, we will drive you to the four archaeological sites around the city. Sacsayhuaman, with its incredible stones, each one weighing more than 100 tons. Here you will have an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the history and culture. You will also discover the meaning and importance of this iconic place.

Then, just five minutes away from Sacsayhuaman, we will reach Qenqo and see its magical altar. After this, we will visit the archaeological sites of Puka Pukara (Red Fort) and Tambomachay (Temple of Water).

End of The Tour

Ending our tour, we will return to the city centre (San Francisco square or Regocijo square).
