Rainbow Mountain

2 Day Rainbow Mountain Tour – Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain Hike

Tour Overview

Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain Tour Hike or Cusco Peru Rainbow Mountain Tour is a popular full-day tour from Cusco. We have designed this two-day experience to give you a deeper insight into life around the snow-capped peaks of Ausangate Mountain.

This is unlike the traditional full-day trip to Rainbow Mountain Vinicunca. Accompanied by a local tour guide, you will witness the highlights of Ausangate Trek and spend a night in the wilderness experiencing the most seven-colored mountains.

This tour operates regularly. We offer this both as a private tour and in small groups.

Please note that the trek's highest point is 5020 meters (16466 feet) above sea level. To avoid altitude sickness, we highly recommend spending a few days in Cusco before the trek. For detailed information, check our detailed guide about the Rainbow Mountain hike.

We will pick you up at your hotel at 6:00am. We will then embark on a three hours drive to Quesino uno. This is the starting point of the trek. Here we will be serving you a traditional breakfast.

Then we climb up for 4 hours through the pristine areas of the Peruvian Andes. We will reach the lunch camp before we begin the high altitude trek.

We will be passing through local herders, lush flat plains and hundreds of llamas which are along our hike. Our campsite for the night is Circle Lake. Here we will enjoy a beautiful evening surrounded by mountains and beautiful landscapes in the middle of the Andes.

Today is what you’ve been waiting for! Your chance to see the beautiful Rainbow Mountain. The best part of the hike.

We will begin our final climb to Vinicunca “Rainbow Mountain”. Upon arrival to the top you can take all the time you want soaking in the amazing 360 degree vistas of the surrounding lands and explore the mountain itself.

If desired, you can hike further to the red valley.

Once you have had your fill of this enigmatic place, we will hike down the hill for three hours to our lunch camp. After lunch, we will be taking the transport back to Cusco.
