Salinas de Maras are geometrical salt puddles on a slope of a hill. These salt puddles are manually supplied with natural spring waters. The salt farmers then let the water to evaporate.
It leaves behind salt crystals which are scrapped out manually. This is a traditional salt farming method which has been followed since Incan civilization.
The agricultural terrace of Moray has been of importance to Incas. These circular terraces have different layers. To Incas, this was more of an agricultural laboratory. It is here they have been inventing different farming techniques.
Each layer of this agricultural terrace has a different temperature. This helped the Incan farmers to determine the quality of growth of crops at different temperature levels.

At 0800 in the morning, we will be picking you up from your hotel in Cusco. We will get your bike ready and will drive you to Chinchero. It is around 40 minutes drive away from Cusco.
Here we will begin our Sacred Valley Bike Tour to Maras Moray. We will be visiting the agricultural terrace of Moray and will be continuing to see the salt terraces in Maras.
After the tour, we will do a downhill biking to Urubamba town in the heart of the Sacred Valley of Incas. This tour is ideal for bikers of all levels of experience, mixing the activity of biking with learning about the ancient Inca culture.
